Our Prosperity is equal to our ability to be who we are!

Hello friends,

I’ve just returned from a wonderful trip to San Francisco. What an incredible city, with so many fabulous people, places and curiousities to discover!  Something I love about this city of rolling hills and vivacious cultures is the knack of the individuals who live there to express themselves as the unique and beautiful beings they are.

It was also great to see the play, “The Tale of the City” and recognize the significance of Armistead Maupin’s work and how he taught people to accept individuals who are different from themselves. The most unique thing about us is our uniqueness, imagine everyone accepting this reality? Imagine everyone living a prosperous life due to their acceptance of their own worthiness and right to be.

Only listen to those people in your life who encourage you to be you, to take risks and understand you can be anything. Your dreams are waiting on you to come true.

I was reminded of a saying you may know – it’s a slight variation on a more popular prayer:

God, grant me the serenity to accept the people I cannot change,
The courage to change the one person I can,
And the wisdom to know that person is ME.

I love this, because it’s brings a little humor to the reality of GRACE. Be still and know I AM.
In the midst of the bustle of the day, a family gathering, a workplace challenge, we have the grace to know we can be still. And in being still, we open ourselves to a higher wisdom.

In How to Speak Unity, I wrote as part of the word BEING:

“In the space of stillness, we are able to relax and let go. There is tremendous power in letting go of what could be, for it is then we are able to accept what is. Somewhere between the thoughts of what could be and what is, there is usually a more perfect solution waiting to be birthed. Our greatest insights come from stillness.”

When we’re facing a challenge, question or conflict, our own GPS (God Personalized System) will guide us.  It’s wonderful to receive good advice from trusted friends, and it’s miraculous to know we have our own best friend within. When we listen, we know. When we know, we can be sure and trust ourselves to express ourselves as the unique and beautiful beings we are!

Wishing you a beautiful and expressive summer,

Temple

Thank you for the inspiration – I enjoyed reading this. Nice way to finish off the evening.

The serenity prayer is still one of my favourite pieces of wisdom.

‘Somewhere between the thoughts of what could be and what is, there is usually a more perfect solution waiting to be birthed. Our greatest insights come from stillness.’ I have found this to be so true.

    Hello Temple!

Thank you for the follow on Twitter. In response to this blog, I believe that your modification to the Serenity Prayer has even another side. Along with accepting others as they are, wouldn’t it be great if we accepted others for what they do for work? Some people choose and love the restaurant industry and the freedom and flexibility it offers and they should not be put down for that choice. (The, “When are you going to get a real job?” question that so many servers get.)

There is a lot I would love to say here, but an email from a man who heard me on NPR years ago says it for me. You can see that at my website if you ever get a free moment. (It’s on the Movie page) You might also like the Pollyanna page.

“I can do all things through Him who strengthens me”
    Phil. 4:13

Thank you for your time! Cheers, Patti DiVita
