As precious as its author, Reverend Temple Hayes, the book “The Right to Be You: The Lit“The Right to Be You: The Little Book That Could” with Rev. Temple Hayestle Book That Could” heralds THE rights movement of our times. Sound grandiose? It is. Reverend Temple Hayes of First Unity Church in St. Petersburg, Florida has doubled church membership as a minister and now helps to redouble our efforts to acknowledge and respect the Spirit of Life in us all. In this new book, she brings to our consciousness simply and succinctly something we too often forget: with one change of our minds, we can see peace in our world and in all beings in this life time.

The Life Rights movement is a Peace Through People Initiative that combines human rights, civil rights, equal rights, gay rights, religious rights, animal rights, children’s rights, elder rights and the ecological rights of this planet under one universal umbrella.

The book, “The Right to Be You”, written for children of all ages (with the youngest in years among us in mind), gives us pause to consider the fact that as God’s Creations each and every one of have the inalienable right to BE. Beautifully illustrated and designed for classroom teaching and storytime, this book has captured my heart, and will lighten the imaginations of all people who read it. Add this book to the early reading canon of children you love & BE Blessed.

Success and Life Rights by Henry David Thoreau

Namaste:

Henry David Thoreau wrote Walden. In that book he shared this inspiration: ” If one advances confidently in the direction if his dreams and endeavors to live the life which he has imagined, he will meet with a success unrecognized in common hours.”

Mary Manin Morrissey during a recent presentation at First Unity of St. Petersburg reminded us of the importance of clearly defining our dreams. Life Rights is a dream that is starting to come true. Thoreau’s freedom was compromised when he was jailed as a result of protesting the United States war with Mexico. This event had such a profound impact on him he wrote the famous essay “Civil Disobedience”. In this essay Thoreau  wrote “….the state is created for man whose power comes from the Divine and not the other way around.” Thoreau delivered a powerful message on the importance of freedom in that essay.

I feel Thoreau  would have written a little differently today. Respectful of the time, I am not judgmental of his choice of gender specific words. We all have to move past a specific word or phrase to the core intent. We  are blessed when we truly acknowledge the Divine Love of God in all regardless of color, gender, sexual preferences…when we know Namaste within and move beyond using the word as friendly greeting.

There are many Life Rights violations, abuses of freedom. Our opportunity is right now. “Peace Begins Right Here Right Now” with each one of us when we allow the Consciousness of Divinity to emerge. This Divine Consciousness does not fuel the negative emotions surrounding negative events.  Violations of Life Rights begin to be diffused with our strengthening consciousness that all life has the right to live their intentions in freedom and peace.

Henry David Thoreau  stood for freedom and peace. I stand for freedom and peace. If this makes sense to you, please demonstrate your support of this belief by registering at www.LifeRights.com and sharing this message with others.

The video that follows is about Walden and David Henry Thoreau’s essay Civil Disobedience. Please watch,  listen closely and consider not only your belief but what you stand for.

Love and Blessings
